How CORAS Leverages Time as a Weapon for NAVAIR

How CORAS supports NAVAIR’s Mission Readiness by delivering cognitive decision insights, holistic data management, and Carpe Tempus

As the Department of Defense prepares for increasing power struggles,
geo-political uncertainty, and aggression around the world, every department
is charged with refining its capabilities and preparedness aspects. While the
concept of readiness is not new for the U.S. Navy and the other branches of
the Armed Forces, threat projections from near-peer competitors demand
action now. CORAS responds to the NAVAIR mission by delivering
information readiness to leaders with critical insights and comprehensive
views of their data. The FedRAMP High Software as a Service (SaaS)
Enterprise Decision Management platform supports several PMAs within
NAVAIR including recent awards with Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR)
PMA-299 and US Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD)
Webster Outlying Field (WOLF), as well as US Naval Air Systems Command
Airborne Strategic Command, Control, and Communications Program (NAVAIR
PMA-271) and US Naval Air Traffic Management Systems Program Office
(PMA-213).

How does software relate to readiness? Naval missions require leaders to
respond to information and make decisions based upon a cacophony of data
with multiple secure systems that hold data sets that do not communicate
with one another.

CORAS can be deployed in days, and allows users to keep the systems they
use, thereby eliminating the disruption and downtime of replacements.

CORAS brings all systems together, verifying information and providing a transparent, trusted outcome is essential to moving from data situations to action. One of CORAS’ many special capabilities is that it offers NAVAIR customers the ability to work on top of existing systems in the most secure environments while tapping into disparate data sources and creating a unique SmartBoard of live data.

CORAS allows NAVAIR to work faster, with patent-pending Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Natural Language Processing (NLP) that reveals data once inaccessible as a document, email, or PDF, enabling customers to extrapolate exponential information, and then use the tool to understand it.

CORAS capabilities enable leaders to get a complete story from their information that allows them to make better decisions. Supporting the complex needs and missions of NAVAIR PMAs is an ideal application.

That translates to giving NAVAIR leadership complete insights and information on status of funding, resources, maintenance, purchases, supply chains, etc. Even new users quickly become CORAS advocates because they are able to view and engage with their data in one place.

Additionally, CORAS captures the reasons why past decisions were made, adding context and value to the information. What-if scenarios allow leaders to examine the potential consequence of actions to best predict desirable outcomes. CORAS is an ideal tool for working with mercurial budgets and unfunded requests (UFRs) because its AI/NLP engine identifies connections, redundancies, and unseen relationships to drive efficiency and a greater understanding of assets. CORAS is the tool the USN N94 department uses to balance its multi-billion-dollar budget.

Dan Naselius, President, and CTO of CORAS, says “CORAS’ mission is to deliver readiness to our customers in the DoD. We leverage cognitive AI to give leaders the ability to make truly informed decisions. A source of pride for us is that CORAS has been built over the years through collaborations with our U.S. Navy customers. Tools within CORAS like Driver Trees, Strikeforce Readiness, Root Cause Analysis, COOP, and Portfolio Management are a direct result of listening to departmental needs and working together to deliver the solution.”

As the US NAVY leverages technological advancements across commercially available technologies, CORAS is working in tandem to bring together the actionable insights from multiple solutions into one single pane of glass. Already a leader in agility, CORAS will continue to develop Driver Trees in its support of PMA 299 and expanding responsiveness and functionality for MH-60 Multi Aircraft Mission Readiness.

CORAS was recognized by The Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office (CDAO) and earned “Awardable” status on the Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace. CORAS also supports the Navy Maritime Maintenance Enterprise Solution – Strategic Planning and Forecasting Tool (NMMES-SPF).

Driver Trees are a performance-based management process that identifies root causes and the most impactful way of pushing efficient progress and resolution; incorporating the U.S. Navy’s (USN) Get Real Get Better and Performance to Plan (P2P) articulated by Vice Admiral Morley earlier this year. The mission is to capture analysis, foster deeper connections between data collections and teams, and use predictive analysis and AI automations to drive continual process improvement and data/resource readiness for PMA 299 and the warfighter.

NAVAIR’s NAWCAD WOLF turned to CORAS to support its Project Management needs. This includes the ability to capture strategic and command-level views of its project funding, scope, schedules, historical data, trends, milestones, and centralized reporting across WOLF that gives Navy leadership the complete information it needs right now.

Perhaps the most important aspect of CORAS is its Customer Success team, both collaborators and integrators, who partner to execute on the details and mission for each customer. CORAS is proud to work with NAVAIR to better understand its evolving challenges and create configured solutions that bring 'demonstrated innovation, scalability, and potential impact on missions.' In addition to the FedRAMP High security status, CORAS is on the NIPR/SIPR and Impact Level 4/5 through Amazon GovCloud.

Trust CORAS to support NAVAIR’s goals to manage and expand availability of information, resources, scheduling, performance, and expenditures for actionable insights and decisions. Data readiness not only delivers efficiencies and cognitive data, but uses time as a weapon to drive speed to fleet.
